what i did on vacation today!
 

i went to the beach ...

it doesn't
get any better
than that!

don't forget your bucket and spade!
i wrote a poem ...
Baking, toasty hot under a late june sun.
Straightened out by the oncoming roar of waves
Drowning my melting, heavy limbs rooted in soft sand.

Here ...

For anyone's taking,
With eyes closed, hardly breathing.
Hearing the murmurs of a gossipy tribe
Sending me into my afternoon coma.

On the shore ...

Dreaming, slumber snatched
By a screaming, startling gull
That invades
My territory
With no thought for my rules.

Even seagulls should understand limits!
